Soldering and Desoldering Station

The Create and Maker Space has one HAKKO FX950-17 soldering iron, one Hakko FM204-15 desoldering station & FM2027 soldering iron, and two Weller soldering irons for your use

What is a soldering iron?

A soldering iron is used for melting solder to join electrical components together, such as resistors, capacitors, and circuit boards.

What can you do with it?

The Maker Sace soldering and desoldering station can be used to craft a variety of electrical and electronic components, from small computing devices to robots, and dedicated circuit boards to light and sound generators.

How to get started…

To use our soldering station, you’ll need to:

1. Gain access to the Create and Maker Space; and

2. Complete our soldering training session.

To help you create what you imagine, we’ve put together a user guide, an inspire guide and offer regular workshops (via what’s on). Plus we have trained creative technologists onsite to lend a hand.
